This image is from a photograph I took several years ago.  I was in Delhi when I observed this monkey on a lampost, gazing across a busy dual carriageway.  Its expression showed such longing I would defy anyone to suggest animals don’t have such emotions.

I came across the photo again when I returned to Hartlepool and he provided inspiration for this watercolour (one of two) and my first ballad about the famous legend of the Hartlepool monkey.

The monkey mug and coaster sets with ballad insert are proving to be very popular.
