`Winning’ Saltholme Hare,  is one of my early watercolours, when I was beginning to have the confidence to develop my own style.

When I returned to the North East to live I was delighted to find my opinion of the industrial landscape change as a direct result of visiting RSPB’s flagship centre at Saltholme, Teesside.  I now know this landscape provides a good home for many birds, insects and mammals.

The sister to this watercolour is `Hare’s Breath’, the first of my hare paintings.
